It all began because I love making anything homemade!

Back in 2001, living in a small rural community in Northern California, my neighbor made soap from tallow. I quickly learned the art of soap making and then starting my own adventure of cutting up and rendering down tallow which was one of the ingredients of soap. The other two ingredients were just red devil lye and water. It was a beautiful process and I was so happy with each bar of soap and this was the start of where I am now, owning Clear Creek Soap Co.

I am an entrepreneur and a homemaker at heart. After learning to make soap for my family, I started selling soap at a yearly Christmas craft faire at the Niles Hotel in Alturas, California. (Also the place where our wedding reception was over 30 years ago).

We then moved to Redding, California and I got my soaps in a few stores and did more local events like the Palo Cedro Honey Bee Festival and the Manton Apple Festival. I grew and grew and started an official business with a website in 2008 called The Essential Olive because my main ingredient was the essential olive oil that was moisturizing and brought healing to dry and undernourished skin.

In 2022, the opportunity arose to purchase Clear Creek Soap Co. Being a bit nervous of purchasing a business, I jumped in with both feet and figured it out. I gave Clear Creek Soap a little facelift with a new website, some new branding and also bringing in The Essential Olive products.

A year and a half later, I love being in the soap business and I love Clear Creek Soap Co. It was the best decision ever…following my dream…my heart. I wear all the hats of the business and am learning how to do them all successfully which has been fun and a learning experience.

I am a home based business making products in small batches and packaging each one to sell them to you at Clear Creek Soaps website, the Farmers Market or other stores around Redding. I have made over 15,000 bars of soap along with thousands of lip balms all from my kitchen. Some of my other products, all of which I love, are the solid lotion bars, natural deodorant, face cream (amazing stuff), whipped body butters, sea salt scrubs, loofah soaps, shaving soaps, beard oil & balm, cuticle balms and laundry soap. Like I said, I like making homemade…even my toothpaste is homemade.

I believe that being natural is the best. I started on making my own natural skin care because I had eczema and wanted to get away from all of the synthetic cleaners and products that I didn't even know how to pronounce the ingredients on them. At Clear Creek Soap, you can easily understand each ingredient.

As the owner of a small business, I want to show my children and grandchildren the core values of kindness, generosity, respect, doing the right thing and running a business that benefits the customer as well as my family. I also want to be a part in helping shape our local economy so that everyone in the community can prosper and know happiness.

Living simple and natural with God at the center are also my core values. My husband and I have been married for 31 years. We have 4 beautiful grown children, 4 grandchildren and one on the way!

We have worked on cattle ranches for over 15 years and we know the importance of good quality food. We grow a garden with beets, carrots, potatoes, beans and lots of other vegetables. We raise our own chickens for meat and fresh eggs. I love to make bread, granola, blackberry jam from the berries down by the creek, kombucha, herbal tinctures, drink raw milk, canning and all the other things that go with a homesteading spirit.

Thank you for supporting Clear Creek Soap. I am proud to call it mine and it makes my heart happy to provide quality products that my customers love.

Enjoy!
